A community of peers acting as a professional prospect research "department".
Are you an early career or solo prospect researcher? Struggling to figure out what you’re supposed to be doing? Wondering if you’re doing it right?
Or are you a fundraising manager? Concerned about getting a return on your research staff investment? Not sure how prospect research can improve your fundraising?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, the Early Career Club is for you! This community of peers acts as a professional prospect research department, supporting and learning from each other. Moderated by an expert in the field, we help prospect researchers boost performance through learning content, discussion, practice, and peer feedback.
Every month has a topic from one of the five learning domains: Research in Fundraising, Prospect Research, Fundraising Analytics, Relationship Management, and Research Careers. Enrolled prospect researchers interact with the content and their peers through forum discussion, live text chats, video podcasts, and peer review workshops.
Imagine the end of year operations review and being able to demonstrate how prospect research has boosted fundraising initiatives? As a manager, measurable results are a job well done. As a prospect researcher, measurable results demonstrate your skill and value.
You have the skills and talent – you just need affordable, ongoing learning to keep your prospect research efforts on track and growing.
In this private community you never have to worry about asking dumb questions! When confronted with strange research requests or worried that you should be finding information you can’t, you can reach out to the community and get quick answers – and plenty of support and understanding, too!
I’m Jennifer Filla, CEO of the Prospect Research Institute, a Prospect Researcher and Fundraiser at Aspire Research Group LLC since 2007, and co-author of Prospect Research for Fundraisers: The Essential Handbook, part of the AFP/Wiley Fund Development Series. I am a member of CASE, AFP, and Apra.
For more than five years I have been speaking and presenting at AFP and Apra meetings and conferences. The demand for clear instruction that can be applied immediately at the fundraising office led me to launch the Prospect Research Institute. After teaching many classes, I realized that beyond the content, the most important part of the learning experience is connecting with peers. I look forward to connecting with you in the Early Career Club!
